Cross Ange: Rondo of Angels and Dragon - Collection 2 (2015/Sentai Filmworks Blu-ray)

Picture: A Sound: B+ Extras: B Episodes: B+

Angelise was fallen princess. Stripped of her rank and her nobility, she was forced to fight on the front lines as a slave soldier as a Para-mail Rider. However, it is only on the frontlines does Ange learn the truth, how unfair the world is where the elite thrive on the weak. She discovers the Empire continues their 'rule'/'peaceful' existence by secretly enslaving humans and dragons forcing them to hunt and harvest dragon hearts power their kingdom in Cross Ange: Rondo of Angels and Dragon - Collection 2 (2015).

Ange was once a princess, but then she became a slave, then the pilot of Villkiss, a powerful dimensional Para-mail mecha. She is forced to fight and die on the frontlines against the mysterious dragons that attack their kingdom. Ange encounters Embryo and discovers that both mankind and dragon has been controlled and manipulated by him. Embryo not only controls military power, but is also able to brain wash other people's mind through pain and their ultimate fantasies. Time and time again, Ange is both humiliated and humbled by the girls of the para-mail squadron and by the dragon girls as she now fights along side those she once considered beneath her and her enemies.

This was a fan-serviced filled anime, filled with girls, action and mecha. In the end, it is about how the greatest enemy isn't from outside but from within. That pride, jealousy, greed and envy can turn the purest of hearts into evil, worthy of the debut season.

The 1080p 1.78 X 1 digital High Definition image transfers on each episode is once again, spectacular and at the top of the list of Sentai's best Blu-ray releases to date, while the DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 2.0 lossless Stereo with Pro Logic-like surrounds is good in its English version, but yet again that much better in its Japanese version. Extras include clean opening and closing animations, Cross Ange Talk Show, Music Videos, Japanese Commercials, and trailers.
