Rin-ne: Collection 2 (2015/aka Kyokai no Rin-ne: Collection 2/Sentai Blu-ray Set)

Picture: C+ Sound: B Extras: C Episodes: B+

Since Sakura was a little girl, she could always see spirits but suddenly get caught up in the spirit world when she meets Rinne Rokudo, a half human half Shinigami boy. Rokudo helps lost souls pass on to the next world to the Wheel of Reincarnation, but due to his complex family circumstances, Rokudo is always poor and has to works side/odd jobs to get by. As Sakura learns more about Rokudo and the spirit world, they are join by Tsubasa the exorcist and Ageha a female Shinigami. Together, they fight against the demons and Damashigami who tries to steal or corrupt people's souls in Rin-ne: Collection 2 (2015/aka Kyokai no Rin-ne: Collection 2).

Rokudo is a Shinigami who helps guide lost souls and banish evil soul that haunt the earth. His life gets turned upside down when he meets Sakura who can see him (normally he can't be seen by mortals) and joins him on his adventures. They are join by Sakura's childhood friend, exorcist Tsubasa (who has a crush on Sakura), and a female Shinigami Ageha (who has a crush on Rokudo). As fate seems draw Rokudo and Sakura together, Tsubasa and Ageha are determined to keep them apart. However, they are united (unwillingly) when faced against the Damashigami or Demons who seek to take advantage of human souls. Rokudo in particular fights his no good father who is the Damashigami Company President and Ageha's must face her older sister who's joined Damashigami.

From the creator of Ranma 1/2 and Inuyasha comes Rumiko Takahashi's latest series, Rin-ne or Kyokai no Rin-ne. It combines and makes fun of high school drama with supernatural/spiritual adventures with comedy and romance. The series makes fun of many Japanese cultural/spiritual/ghost references as well in another strong season.

A combination of mixed art and the transfer again makes the 1080p 1.78 X 1 digital High Definition image a bit of a disappointment, though color can be decent, but the lossless Japanese DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 2.0 Stereo tracks with Pro Logic-like surrounds are warm and well recorded, so they are a playback plus. Extras include clean opening and closing animations and trailers.
