Longmire - The Complete Fourth Season (2015/Warner DVD Set)

Picture: B- Sound: C Extras: D Episodes: B+

Welcome to Season Four of Longmire, as Sheriff Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is set on the warpath with the murder of his deputy Branch. As he, Vic and Fergus searches for evidence and suspects, his chief suspect is the recently returned Nighthorse who controls the casino and all the shady/illegal deals in Absaroko County. However, Henry who is tired of 'White Man's Justice' towards Native Americans becomes a vigilante 'Hector' for the rape and abuse of Native American girls.

Sheriff Longmire is a man of the law, but unfortunately, his extent of the law does not cover anything on the reservation. He soon discovers the murder of his deputy is connected to the murder of his late wife and may finally discover it's true mastermind. Vic, his second in command continues to support and hold a torch for Longmire as she goes through her own divorce. Henry, Longmire's best friend secretly get revenge for Native Americans since the law cannot prosecute any crimes that happen on the reservation.

Longmire is a modern Western murder mystery series. With only a Sheriff and 3 deputies carrying out the law for the entire county, often they find themselves also judge, jury and executioner. Often, they find themselves needing to take the law into their own hands in order to protect the citizens from rich, corrupt and powerful from loop holes in the law and things that are considered 'outside' their jurisdiction.

The anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image and lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 sound are about on par with the previously reviewed sets covered elsewhere on this site, though I thought the picture was better than expected. No extras.
