Richard Franklin's gritty 1981 film Road Games (1981) is a great thriller that will keep you on the edge of your toes. Starring Stacey Keach and Jamie Lee Curtis, the film is a mixture of road trip adventure mixed with a giallo film. Tightly shot and edited, I found this to be an enjoyable ride from start to finish and hadn't seen the film prior to this release.

While driving across the Australian outback with his dog, the smooth talking truck driver Patrick Quid (Keach) becomes aware that a serial killer is attacking women and killing them with piano wire. He suspects that the driver of a green van is the murderer and is getting rid of the bodies in pieces in plastic bags burying them in the desert. On his way to Perth with a load of pork meat, he gives a ride to the hitchhiker Pamela Rushworth (Curtis) and tells his theory about the killer to her. When they park in a gas station, they see the van and Pamela decides to break into it to investigate. When Pamela disappears, Pat pursuits the van while he becomes the prime suspect of the police that leads up to the explosive climax.

Presented in 1080p high definition with a beautiful newly restored 4K transfer from surviving 35mm print materials, a widescreen aspect ratio of 2.35:1 and a great sounding, lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 track, the film looks and sounds fantastic on Blu-ray disc. A lossy Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono English track is also included on the disc.
