Den-noh Coil: Collection Two (2007/Maiden Japan/Sentai Blu-ray Set)

Picture: B Sound: C Extras: C Episodes: B+

As Yasako continues to learns more about the virtual world, she begins to realize it's not only a place for their virtual pets and their games, but there is a dark secret about them. Through their E-glasses and the right conditions it leads to another world. Yasako learns their worlds are more connected than they know... and before it is over she learn a few secrets about her past she never knew about in Den-noh Coil: Collection Two (2007).

At first, E-glasses were developed for kids and were just thought of as another game/fad for kids, but now they have opened a door to another world and they can't close it ...and the government will do anything to control it. Shadowy beings from the other side begin to invade our world, but the dark secret is our worlds have met before and those dark shadows were people who have separated their bodies ...and have been trapped on the other side while their real bodies died. Yasako doesn't realize it, but she is one of the few survivors that have crossed over and returned.

This was very sci-fi anime with heavy theme for a story about children. Again the fate of the world is in the hands of children. It is about a virtual world, not quite enough for robots or cyberization but what if AI could exist and how would it impact our world? Would it want a body or try to take over our world? What if you can live forever in a digital version you? It could of easily been a very 'Ghost in the Shell'-like story but with the without the action and about kids instead.

The 1080p 1.78 X 1 digital High Definition image transfer can show the age of the materials used, but the presentation is fine throughout, but the DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) Japanese 2.0 Stereo lossless mix is not always as convincing, upgrading the older sound with mixed results and is weaker overall than the last Blu-ray set of the show, but it is still better than the English version. Extras include clean opening and closing animations and trailers.
