Blood Diner (1987/Vestron/Lionsgate Blu-ray)

Picture: B Sound: B Extras: B Film: C+

Equal parts comedy and horror, Blood Diner is a 1987 film directed by Jackie Kong that is finally finding its way onto Blu-ray disc with a new transfer from the original film elements as part of the Vestron Video Collectors Series from Lionsgate. Slapped with a long and drawn warning label of the violence that will soon ensue post feature, the very '80s film isn't without gracious nudity and gore that will satisfy fans of cult cinema.

Focusing around the cannibalistic Namtut Brothers, who resurrect their Serial Killer Uncle's brain that talks to them and tells them to kill in an attempt to poison and terrorize customers of a diner that he worked at in his past life. The madness takes off from there.

Blood Diner stars Rick Burks, Carl Crew, and Roger Dauer.

Presented in 1080p high definition with a widescreen aspect ratio of 1.85:1 and an original lossless DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 2.0 Mono track, the film looks and sounds impressive on Blu-ray disc, upping any previous presentation of the film with ease.
