and Arnaud: Art, Love, and Mortality (2013/First Run DVD)

A
charming documentary film by Marcia Connolly and Katherine Knight,
Spring and Arnaud (2013), focuses on two souls passion for art
and love over 25 years. The subjects of the doc are photographer
Arnaud Maggs (turning 85 in the film) and Spring Hurlbut who is an
artist of many trades and the loving and creative relationship that
the two shared. Filled with great interviews, nicely shot
cinematography, and a rousing score - this is a great watch for
lovers of art and romance.
Presented
in standard definition with a widescreen 1.77:1 presentation and
lossy Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo track with surround sound (Pro Logic),
the documentary film looks and sounds fine for DVD but lacking some
of the texture and detail you would see in high def. For a film of
this nature though, DVD is fine.
Extras
include seven short films including...
Memorial
for Arnaud Maggs 1926-2012
64
Portraits
Photography
and Collecting
Ears
The
Final Sleep
Deuil
Le
Jardin Du Sommeil
While
only a short 67 minutes, this is an interesting subject that will
keep you hooked from start to finish.
