Rising Tides (2016/Cinema Libre DVD)

Picture: B Sound: B Extras: C Film: C

Rising Tides is a brilliantly shot and interesting documentary on climate change that will scare the beejezzus out of you. Winner of the 2016 Telly Awards, this film features many great interviews with Politicians, homeowners, nonprofits and more that highlight the great threat and theorize at the frightening future that we are those near a coastline are in a store for. The film is directed by J. Lazarus Auerbach and Scott Duthie and is definitely worth a watch to anyone who is interested in the subject.

Sea-level rise, vanishing coastlines, and the effects of heavy hurricanes are threatening many parts of the Earth. This eye-opening look asks anyone who is able to help to band together to help stop erosion and the rising tides. Many of the stories in this doc will bull at heart strings or hit a bit close to home for some. For others, it will educate and hopefully better well inform on this hot topic.

Presented in standard definition with a 1.77:1 widescreen aspect ratio and a Dolby Digital 2.0 track, the film looks and sounds fine for DVD but would benefit to a high definition update. Editing is fine.
