The

A
found footage horror flick in the same vein as the (first) Blair
Witch Project, Mark Evans' The Devil's Forest (2016 aka
The Devil's Complex) is based on a true place in Romania known
as the Hoia Baciu (the Bermuda Triangle of Romania it is known as)
where many have committed suicide or died in horrible ways.
The
film stars Maria Simona Arsu, Patrick-Sebastian Negrean, and Marius
Dan Munteanu.
Traveling
to Transylvania and armed with video cameras in 2012, a film crew
goes in to document and we are bestowed with the horrific visions
that they captured on film. As explained in text at the beginning
the footage was found by a college Professor in London, who serves as
a narrator for the film, creepy encounters soon follow.
Presented
in anamorphically enhanced standard definition with a widescreen
aspect ratio of 1.78:1 and a lossy Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo track,
the film looks and sounds fine for DVD, but due to the low budget and
lack of production design, wouldn't really be bested too much by a
high def update. Much of the film is shaky cam with many later
scenes shot at night so I wouldn't suggest this film for people with
motion sickness.
The
only extra is a trailer.
An
interesting low budget concept, the film has mediocre acting and
special effects that don't really sell the concept as being real with
the comparisons to Blair Witch pretty blatant.
