It's
been a year since Hotaru came to Asahigaoka Village and now she
begins her second semester. This year, Renge-chan joins them in
school. They enjoy school and daily life in the countryside with
Komari and Natsumi. As they wander through their village they find
the extraordinary in the ordinary in what nature has to offer them,
but most of all they enjoy each other's company in Non Non Biyori:
Repeat - Complete Collection (2015).
Hotaru,
Renge, Komari and Natsumi live out in the middle of no where, where
nothing exciting happens or ever changes. Their entire school is
just 5 students (all in one classroom), with Komari and Natsumi's
older brother Suguru. Hotaru was from Tokyo and considered a 'modern
girl' but she strives to learn everything to be a 'country girl'.
Komari is oldest among the girls, but because of short height she is
often mistaken for a grade schooler. Natsumi is Komari's younger
sister who like playing more than studying and enjoys playing pranks.
Renge-chan is the youngest of the girls, she is the most imaginative
and loves to make up games for them to play, she learns from all her
'big sisters' but every so often she say something simple, yet
profoundly wise.
This
series was filled with comedy and Japanese culture living in the
countryside with the freshness of young energetic girls. Imagine
living without modern comforts, no malls, no internet, cell phone, it
reminds me of the times when kids actually went outside to play,
explore with friends.
Like
the first season of the show, the 1080p 1.78 X 1 digital High
Definition image is among the best of a very strong set of Blu-rays
from Sentai, while the lossless DTS-HD Master Audio (MA) 2.0 Stereo
(with Pro Logic-like surrounds) is among the top soundtracks on any
of their releases of late, so this too would be one of my demo sets
if I were showing why Sentai has such great Blu-ray releases
technically. Extras this time include commentaries, Dagashi, cast
panel video, promos, clean opening and closing animations and
trailers.
