Outlander: Season Two (2016/Sony Blu-ray Set)

Picture: B+ Sound: B+ Extras: B Episodes: B

The period piece drama Outlander continues on Blu-ray disc with the extensive Season Two. Following the French couple Jamie (a Scottish warrior) and Claire Randall (a 1945 combat nurse who was in the last season sent back to the year 1743) - both of which have the intention of infiltrating the Jacobrite rebellion which is led by Prince Charles Stuart. This season ups the ante with superb production values and costume design. even if it does get a little soap opera-ish along the way. Heavy on politics, romance, some time traveling, and the preservation of the Scotts - this season will attract some and repel others.

Outlander stars Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Graham McTavish, Duncan Lacroix, Tobias Menzies, and Grant O'Rourke to name a few.

13 episodes span 5 Blu-ray disc with the following: Through a Glass Darkly, Not in Scotland Anymore, Useful Occupations and Deception, La Dame Blanche, Untimely Resurrection, Best Laid Schemes, Faith, The Fox's Lair, Je Suis Prest, Prestonpans, Vengeance is Mine, The Hail Mary, and the season finale Dragonfly in Amber.

Presented in 1080p high definition with a widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1, these episodes are gorgeous to watch on Blu-ray disc with rich and saturated colors that bring out the production design and costuming in sharp detail. The audio is mixed in lossless DTS-HD MA (Mastetr Audio) 5.1 that brings the show to life even better than it looked and sounded upon its initial broadcast. If you're a fan of the show, then this is definitely the way you want to experience it. A Digital Copy is also included.

Special Features include...

  • ''Faith'' - Extended Episode (Blu-ray exclusive)

  • Alternative Scene (Blu-ray exclusive)
