Port Protection: Season 2 (2016/National Geographic/Fox DVD)

Picture: B- Sound: C Extras: D Episodes: B

Welcome to Port Protection, up in the Alaskan frontier where people live far from civilization and everyday is survival. A small community of people brave the ocean, weather and mother nature. There, people forge everything from nature itself, while there is beauty and freedom there is also danger behind everything they do as we see in the continuing struggles in Port Protection: Season 2 (2016).

The citizen of Port Protection live hundreds of miles from any sort of civilization off the grid away from any form of government neighbors. Everything they have, everything they need they must build, grow or catch themselves. There mankind is once more tested by nature where man must adapt to everything in order to survive, in where failure could mean the difference between live and death.

National Geographic shows you the beauty and dangers of the Alaskan wilderness. For those who live out there, while they live in what some people would call paradise, to them everyday is a challenge, either looking for food or fixing or improving their shelter. With each new generation, the members of a tight knit community work together be able to survive in the wilderness. Watching these film make you feel what it would be like to live without modern civilization and a better understanding and respect for nature.

The anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 widescreen image has minor detail issues being a burn-to-order disc, but it looks good otherwise and the sound mix is a lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 that has location issues, but is fine otherwise. There are no extras.
