Swamp People: Season 7 (2016/History Channel/Lionsgate DVD Set)

Picture: B Sound: B Extras: C Episodes: C+

Host and Crocodile Hunter Troy Landry continues this tough-as-nails quest to tame the swamp waters in Season 7 of Swamp People, available from Lionsgate for the first time on DVD.

Hilarious, educational, and in some ways similar to Duck Dynasty, the show meets up with several colorful characters that all share the common goal of tracking down wild gators and keeping the swamps relatively clean from the bloodthirsty menace. In addition, Troy preserves his Cajun way of life with co-host Bruce Mitchell along with two other newcomers to the show Frenchy Crochet and Gee Singleton.

Episodes include High Water Hell, The Code of the Swamp, All Hands on Deck, Home Turf, Monster Men, The Party's Over, Sweet Revenge, Gamblin' Man, Better Late Than Never, Cannibal Country, Big Claw, Home Stretch, and End of the Line.

The show is presented in standard definition with a widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1 and a lossy English 2.0 Dolby Digital Stereo track, that looks and sounds comparable to the original television broadcast, though obviously uncut and commercial free. If you're looking to binge watch the whole season, then this would be a great place to start.

There are some additional bonus materials on the third disc but nothing outside of the EPK realm, though we've reviewed previous seasons elsewhere on this site.

All in all, the show is pretty fun and you learn a thing or two along the way. Great for hunters or those who are interested in the Cajun way of life.
