Rizzoli & Isles: The Seventh and Final Season (2016/Warner DVD Set)

Picture: C Sound: C Extras: D Episodes: C+

It's the final season of Rizzoli & Isles, as Detective Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon) and Dr. Maura Isles (Sasha Alexander) recovers and faces off with her elusive nemesis Alice Sands (the ever-underrated Annabeth Gish). Will they catch her or Alice have the last laugh? Through all the years of mystery, murder, drama and family relations, Rizzoli and Isles have solved countless weird cases with grace (questionable) and charm.

Jane Rizzoli is (basically) the head detective to Boston PD, she comes from an Irish family with basically the Boston PD as her surrogate family behind her. Dr. Maura Isles the medical examiner who is more like her partner/BFF and helps her with the clues as she kick down doors with a gun and badge in hand. As more cases fall into their laps, Rizzoli and Isles show that anything the boys can do ...so can they.

Based on the novels and stories of Tess Gerriten, Rizzoli and Isles is a series based on 2 females who solve murders. While set in Boston, a lot of it seems like it isn't quiet like Boston or the real Boston PD. Much of the sets looked like clone copy of other mystery murder series. While the drama and relationships were interesting the cases were hardly a mystery (more like follow the clues and then a police shake down). The main characters looked like middle age independent women with heavy drinking voices (which fits the police profile) and wears clothes that look like their daughters would wear. Thus, the show has more than told every story it can, so this was definitely the time to end after a very successful run.

The anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image is on the lite side throughout for this HD-shot series, while the lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 mix can see a bit constrictive and underwhelming more often than it should. The only, final extra is a Gag Reel.

The final episodes are...

Two Shots: Move Forward - As the team recovers from Alice's latest attack, can they be smart enough to catch her? A criminal who leaves no clues?
