Miles' western Stagecoach: The Texas Jack Story (2016) is a
decent, run-of-the-mill western revenge story starring Trace Adkins,
Kim Coates, Judd Nelson, Michelle Harrison, Helena Marie, and Claude
Duhamel.
Loosely
based on the real-life exploits of 19th-century American outlaw
Nathaniel Reed, after retiring from his life as an infamous outlaw,
livery owner Reed (Adkins) quietly leads an honest existence on the
Texas frontier with his devoted wife, Laura Lee, and they are soon
with child. Once life seems to be going well, his gun-slinging past
suddenly comes back to haunt him when he learns that Calhoun
(Coates), the man he once maimed during a stagecoach robbery, is now
an unhinged U.S. Marshal who'll stop at nothing to exact vengeance.
After a violent shootout brings tragic consequences, Nathaniel
partners with his original gang, returns to his lawless ways and
becomes the infamous trigger happy Texas Jack: the most wanted outlaw
in the West.
Stagecoach
is presented in 1080p high definition with a widescreen aspect ratio
of 2.39:1 and a great sounding DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) lossless 5.1
track that looks and sounds fantastic on this Blu-ray disc. The film
has very natural color tones and a sharpened image that is rich in
detail throughout. Cinedigm did a nice job on the presentation here,
which is usually the case with them.
Special
Features include a Behind the Scenes featurette and a Trailer.
While
the film isn't anything new in terms of story, its decent production
design and performances make it entertaining.
