Return Of Kung Fu: Trailers of Fury (2017 compilation/Severin Blu-ray)

Picture: B Sound: B- Extras: C+ Film: B

A sequel to Severin's Kung Fu Trailers of Fury disc (reviewed elsewhere on this site among other such compilations), comes the action packed sequel - Return to Kung Fu Trailers of Fury! Featuring thirty five trailers of known and unknown martial arts classics, this is a treat for fans and a great history lesson of films you may not know about. All of them have been restored to high definition as much as possible, looking and sounding great in this release. These films all look pretty fun and we can only hope to see some of them on Blu-ray disc in the near future.

Prepare to be blown away again by Return of Kung Fu: Trailers of Fury with trailers from such films as:

Thunderbolt

Yellow-Faced Tiger (featuring Chuck Norris)

Kung-Fu Master Named Drunk Cat

The Invincible Super Guy

The Invisible Terrorist

Shaolin Invincible Sticks

Bruce and the Iron Finger (with Bruce Li, not Bruce Lee)

Snuff-Bottle Connection

The Story of Chinese Gods

Along Come a Tiger

The Owl

Two in Black Belt

The Young Avenger

White-Haired Devil Lady

The Super Kung-Fu Fighter

Killer From Above

Two Assassins of the Darkness

The Guy with Secret Kung-Fu

Bloody Mission

Revenge of the Shaolin Kid

The Thundering Mantis

Shaolin Hong Chang San Feng

The Bomb-Shell

Black Guide

One Way Only

The Old Master

Bg Leap Forward

Gambling for Head

Silent Romance

Itchy Fingers

Crazy Horse and Intelligent Monkey

The Legendary Strike

The Instant Kung-Fu Man

Hell's Windstaff

The Avenging Boxer

Some of the huge international stars you will spot include Angela Mao, Bolo Yeung, Don Wong, Chang Yi, Bruce Li, Leanne Liu, Lo Lieh and even Chuck Norris himself!

Presented in 1080p high definition with a 1.78:1 widescreen aspect ratio (featuring various aspect ratios as expected) and a lossy Dolby Digital 2.0 track, Severin preserves these fun trailers to the best they can look on disc. While the mix isn't in 5.1, it doesn't necessarily need to be as many of these films have been restored from their original mono tracks and upgraded to stereo. The video presentation isn't half bad either, with great detail on characters and some film artifacts (scratches, emulsions, etc.) that add to the experience rather than detract. English subs are also on the disc.

Special Features...

- Audio Commentary with writer Ric Meyers (Films of Fury)

- Audio Commentary with Frank Djeng (NY Asian Film Festival)

- Audio Commentary with Martial Arts Instructor Greg Schiller

- Audio Commentary with Ric Stelow of Drunken Master Video

If you like Kung Fu films, then this disc is a must have as it will give you hours of entertainment. A disc like this is perfect for a party situation or if you're having a bunch of friends over, much like Severin's previous releases such as The Trail of Dracula and Video Nasties (both of which feature lots of great trailers and are also reviewed elsewhere on this site.)
