SpacePOP: Princess Power - The Movie (2017/Sony DVD)

Picture: C+ Sound: C+ Extras: C Main Program: C+

When the Evil Empress Geela take over the 5 planets of Pentangle, 5 princesses disguise themselves as pop stars to rock the rebellion against her. Join these princesses and their fans as they use the power of their love, friendship and music to stop the evil plans of Geela in the animated SpacePOP: Princess Power - The Movie (2017).

The five spoiled Princesses went from riches to rags after their parents were captured by Geela. Now, they use their popularity and music to fan the flames of rebellion against Geela's and in the night they are secret spies on Geela and to stop her Doomsday Machine, to bring doom and gloom to the galaxy.

This was a totally 'girl power' film about space princesses/divas who use the power of their song to spread love, freedom and joy against evil ugly space hag, who somehow takes over the universe with her endless evil armies of robots. An early entry in a new franchise, we'll see where they go with this one.

The anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image is nice and colorful for the format, while the lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 mix is not bad. Extras include 3 extended music videos and SpacePOP trailer.
