The Marine 5: Battleground (2017/WWE Studios/Sony Blu-ray)

Picture: B+ Sound: C+ Extras: D Film: C+

After returning stateside, Jake Carter (Mike ''The Miz'' Mizanin) works as a paramedic, but he find himself in different kind of battle when he finds a wounded young man who is hunted by a dangerous local biker gang ...and wants him dead, at any cost. He is trapped in an amusement park's underground parking lot with a wounded man, without back up, communication and any weapons Jake must become the one man army against a legion of bikers in The Marine 5: Battleground (2017).

Jake is an ex-Marine now working as an EMT when he suddenly receives an emergency call, but what he finds is a dead body and another wounded man in an underground garage in a hit gone wrong mixed up with a local biker gang who is out for blood and revenge. Trapped underground and without back up, they find themselves completely surrounded and caught in the crosshairs and crossfire. Jake, conflicted between his sworn duty to save lives and his ability to take lives, must fall back on his military skills in order to survive, and it is kill or be killed.

This was your typical macho military man movie, an ex-military man is forced to use his former training to survive impossible odds and overwhelming enemies, out numbered and out gunned, it is all about who is the bad ass who can kick the most ass. It seems like the WWE wants to make more wrestlers into action movie stars and start making their own movies, but how can you tell these formula releases apart? Hmmmmm......

The 1080p 1.78 X 1 image is a typical HD shoot (shaky camera, rough look, tired flat shots) we've come to expect from all WWE hodge podge, but the DTS HD MA (Master Audio) 5.1 mix is loud, harsh and tries too hard in the worst ways, so it is not good. Extras include trailers.
