and Warner Bros consistently create unique and original
feature-length animated films that are geared towards older
audiences, with some recent hits such as this fantastic focus on
(2009). In recent years, the Batman
animated films have been strong as well and are definitely worth
checking out if you're a fan of DC Comics iconic characters.
an all star voice cast including Kerri Russell, Nathan Fillion,
Rosario Dawson, Marg Heigenberger, Oliver Platt, and Virginia Madsen
to name a few. In the wake of the upcoming live action version of
(2017) starring Gal Gadot, this re-release features new extras and a
wonder transfer of this superbly animated film that may give us some
clue as to the origin story plot of that film.
in part as an origin story to the character, Wonder Woman (Russell)
must not only meet her first romantic interest in American wise-guy
Steve Trevor (Fillion), but she must go up against one of the biggest
adversaries her people have ever known: Ares -The God of War himself
(Platt). Freed from his imprisonment on the mystical island of
Themyscira (Wonder Woman's realm), nothing can stop Ares as he wages
an all out war against all of humanity. In order to stop him, Wonder
Woman will not only have to learn the ways and adapt to modern day
New York City, but prohibit Ares from meeting with Hades - a sinister
God who can help him release powerful chains that suppress his
powers. Can she and her lasso of truth save the day?
new edition features both of the 1080p Blu-ray and standard
definition DVD of the film, both of which have a widescreen aspect
ratio of 1.78:1. The Blu-ray sports a great sounding, lossless
DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 5.1 track that brings a theatrical-style mix
to film, however, some moments with heavy action feature a tiny bit
of motion blur. Still, the animation throughout looks pretty spot on
and is a huge improvement over the standard definition DVD which is
included, that has a lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 track as well and is the
same DVD we saw 8 years ago.

for the new live-action feature film Wonder
animated feature is a good way for modern audiences to prep
themselves with a little more familiarity with the characters of this
world, though set in much more recent times, before the big film
opens up this summer.
