Himouto! Umaru-chan: Complete Collection (2015/Sentai Blu-ray)

Picture: B+ Sound: B+ Extras: A Episodes: B+

On the outside, to the world Umaru is the perfect girl. She is beautiful, smart and good at anything. But at home she is a lazy, eats junk food, plays video games and watches anime. Only her brother Taihei knows the truth about Umaru's lazy side and has to constantly care for her and clean up after her. Umaru is joined by her friends who all believe she is ideal perfect girl, but truthfully Umaru rather play and have fun instead of being 'Miss Perfect' in Himouto! Umaru-chan: Complete Collection (2015).

Umaru lives with her brother Taihei, outside of their apartment she is the perfect girl, but when she comes home she puts on her hamster pajama and transform into a chibi. At home, she is a total slob and the complete opposite of what people believe and think she is. Only her older brother Taihei knows the truth and her secret, he is a blue collared worker who supports Umaru to help keep her 'second life' from the rest of the world. Umaru is surrounded by friends who all want and try to be like her, but as soon as they leave she turns back into a couch potato.

This is a comedy in how looks can be deceiving. Like many people who watch anime, play video games, it is a secret that people hid from the rest of the world, regardless of age, gender there is a secret side to us that wants to have fun and zero responsibility. The series makes fun of the main character as she jumps back and forth between her two personalities.

The 1080p 1.78 X 1 digital High definition presentations on each episode look really good and has demo shots here and there, while the lossless DTS-HD MA (Master Audio) 2.0 Stereo mixes are its sonic equal and have Pro Logic-like surrounds on both the English and better Japanese tracks. Extras include Japanese Promos, Voice Actor's Commentaries, Song Commercials, Shorts, Daranama, clean opening and closing animations and trailers. A special version in special packaging has also been issued.
