That leaves a new Volume 3 5-DVD set for this new release that includes Shemp Howard Comedy Shorts (14 classics from the '30s & '40s); Joe Besser Comedy Shorts (10 side-splitters from the '40s & '50s), Joe DeRita Comedy Shorts (4 smackers from the '40s), Feature Films (The Three Stooges (2000, biopic); Have Rocket, Will Travel; The Outlaws Is Coming and Rockin' in the Rockies; The Three Stooges Cartoons, including Bon Bon Parade (1935), Merry Mutineers (1936), A Hollywood Detour (1942, made before their hit 1960s animated TV show), as well as the bonus 9-part documentary series "Hey Moe! Hey Dad!," which takes fans behind the scenes with the family of The Three Stooges as they share never-before-seen footage and photos. Booklets are included in all three sets, so this is now the set fans will want.

Next up is Peppa Pig: Stars (2018) issued to apparently capitalize on the release of the First man feature film without referencing it. 12 episodes are included, though they all are not with a space theme, running around an hour (the case fails to note running time) and it is another solid, basic, passable installment in the single DVD series of the hit TV show seen on the Nick Jr. cable network. Consistently child friendly and good, but there should be more here.

The same can be said of two new actual Nick Jr. Network-produced shows: the three specials that make up Snow Awesome! (2016 - 2018) and Top Wing (2017 - 2018), a new series launched around the time of a very belated Top Gun sequel. Snow had episodes of Nella, Sunny Day and Shimmer & Shine put together for the winter holiday running a decent 92 minutes. Wing has 7 episodes running 93 minutes, so both offer more than Peppa, but none of these releases have any extras and the actual Nickelodeon shows are no better. Its up to the child viewer, we guess.

The 1.33 X 1 black & white image on the Stooges shorts are the same good transfers as the older DVDs, but the quality on many of the extras materials are as good, including some at an anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 frame.

The anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image on the child animated TV series are on par with the Stooges in quality, have good color and play just fine, as does their adequate lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 mixes that tend to be child-safe and laid back. The Stooges shorts and older films are here in lossy Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono, but some later programs actually offer lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 mixes.

All ought to be Blu-ray candidates at some point.
