King Of Atlantis
(2021) is a comical animated version of the classic superhero (the
older blonde version now has green hair!) and is somewhere between
SpongeBob and an Aquaman LEGO project. Running over two hours, this
is some of the early animated programming made for the new HBOMax
streaming service and sillier than any previous version of the
money is in the production, but much of it is obvious and this is
overly long, yet it does not let up and at least comes up with a new
twist for the character. I still like the sometimes unintentionally
funny, original 1967 Filmation version of the character, his
first-ever incarnation on any screen, but this is aimed at younger
children or megafans, so they will like this more than most.
Bad Guys 4K
(2022) is the new DreamWorks animated feature film, this time with a
group of 'criminals' (Mr. Wolf (Sam Rockwell), Mr. Snake (Marc
Maron), Mr. Shark (Craig Robinson), Ms. Tarantula (Awkwafina) &
Mr. Piranha (Anthony Ramos) as a criminal group that has been getting
away with crimes for many years. When they finally get caught, Wolf
comes up with a con game to get them out and start a propaganda
program that they have been 'reformed' and with 'never do anything
bad again' if they can help it.
course, he's just up to his next heist and grand robbery with his
gang, but things will not go quite the way anyone expects in this
sometimes very amusing romp meant for kids and the whole family.
Though some things are here we've seen before, there are undeniably
some fun and amusing moments. The result is not bad and the
additional voice work of Alex Borstein, Zazia Beetz, Lilly Singh, and
the ever-reliable Richard Ayoade keeps this one going for a decent
100 minutes. The result is worth a look if you are interested.

(2022) is one of the oddest use of Tweety, Sylvester and Granny I
have ever seen, with odd animation (Tweety looks like an ad for his
favored Blue Bunny-brand icy) with strangely flat animation that is
semi-3D, but a world away from the best art ever done for the
characters. Why this style was approved is odd, but here it is and
some will agree it is off-kilter, so expect not to necessarily like
island queen disappears, but somehow, Tweety is a relative of this
character and happens to be next in line for the throne to run the
island. That does not please Sylvester, but off they all go and this
runs for about 90 minutes. The results are mixed and not your usual
for these characters. I guess it will be a curio for some, but can
this develop into its own series? We'll see how much this odd art
style catches on. See for yourself.

them being multi-Super Bowl-winning former Pittsburgh Steeler Terry

works better than you'd think. Dynomutt is back, but the biggest
surprises are that they landed Carol Burnett (a great match, of
course) and returning in almost the same style and mode as she first
appeared decades ago, Cher!
Freeman (whose original Electric Company was as hot a hit as anything
Scooby when it arrived back in the day) is another plus, but the
saddest, yet one of the best episodes here is the gang appearing on
Jeopardy! and the host is still Alex Trebek! He apparently made this
towards the end and the show delivers. I'll save the rest of the
guests for you to discover, some of whom I also liked, but we'll have
to see where this goes next and how long the show can last with some
of the odder choices.

mentioned, this animated feature is definitely aimed at the younger
crowd and does a good job of at least introducing them to some of
these classic characters, even if the spin they have here is a bit
silly at times.
