Dean Martin – Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime

(Music Compilation)

Picture: C-     Sound: C     Extras: D     Music: C

Passport has now released several compilations of Dean Martin music on DVD, plus three box sets and counting of his work with Jerry Lewis.  Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime may be one too many trips to the well, really stretching out their archive with a mix of fair and not so great performances.  This time, we get:

1)     Send Me The Pillow You Dream On

2)     King Of The Road

3)     Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime

4)     Volare/Evening In Rome

5)     You’re Nobody ‘Till Somebody Loves You

6)     I Don’t Know Why I Like You Like I Do

7)     Hey Good Lookin’/Detour/I Walk The Line/Just A Little Lovin’ (with Petula Clark)

8)     Hominy Grits

9)     Solitaire

10)  Bella Bimba

11)  Tandy Wanda Hoy

12)  You & Your Beautiful Eyes

13)  Frankie & Johnny (with Jerry Lewis in skit)

The result is an odds-n-ends set only diehard fans would like.  The picture quality is not great, all monochrome 1.33 X 1 footage, though the Clark footage was likely color to begin with.  The Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono is barely better and several generations down at that.  There are no extras and this may be the final music compilation on Martin, because what could Passport have left they did not use?
