Girls Bravo – Volume 2 (Animé TV)

Picture: C+     Sound: C+     Extras: C     Episodes: C+

Girls Bravo returns with another volume of storytelling just barely over its nudity, despite the ever-oversimplistic scripts.  The boy/girls cutesy relationship melodrama goes on unabated and is going to be of interest to those who enjoyed the first volume.  If you have not seen the beginning, start there.  The titles that follow should give you an idea of the series’ approach:

5 - 6) Bravo On A Rainy Day! (In two parts)

7) Look For The Groom Bravo!

8) Lots Of Bravo!

The male lead still has supposed fear of girls, but the show is not smart enough to do enough with that, because it is too busy being silly.  The addition of girls from other planets is just wacky, but par for the course in Animé and fans may enjoy it.  The second time here was not as interesting, but it was consistent.

The full frame 1.33 X 1 image is passable, with some good color, but also the tendency of too many Animé titles to purposely be out of focus-looking and soft.  The Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo has no surrounds in either Japanese or English.  The few extras include three Geneon Animé previews, two text-free endings, and another Line Art section.
