If you know who Jethro Tull is and what Progressive Rock was (sometimes dubbed Prog Rock now) then think of the group Caravan as a slightly less Rock oriented version of Tull.  Caravan – The 35th Anniversary Concert – Live At The Bloomsberry Theater – London (30th November 2003) is a Limited Edition 2 DVD Set that offers a full concert on the first DVD in front of a live audience, then an acoustic set on the second DVD with some other extras.  The first concert is 14 songs, the second set only 3, but it gives you a good idea of their talents.

DVD 2 also includes a long interview piece worth our time and an original pre-Music Video filmed promotional clip (5:52) of the band performing The Dog, The Dog, He’s At It Again.  All of this runs about 160 minutes, but the main concert runs nearly two hours, while the acoustic extra runs 12:36.  The interview runs 24 minutes and all of it is engaging enough.

All the footage is at 1.33 X 1 and the newer video footage is not bad, but shows its limits, likely being analog professional PAL, while the 1973 filmed clip has some good color, some dust and dirt on the print and was likely shot in 16mm.  The sound is Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo throughout without any surrounds.  All in all, this is an interesting crash course on the band and as good a place as any to start if you are interested.  Nicely done.
