Golf Magazine – Top 100 Teachers: The More Series

If Golf is so boring, why does it keep increasing in popularity?  Maybe because there is something to it after all and Golf Magazine – Top 100 Teachers: The More Series is a three-DVD set that shows why.  If you think the sport is boring or so easy, think again.  This self-help set is terrific in explaining what to expect from the sport and those who are fans, they will love all the tips, details, suggestions, guidance and rapid succession of great advice contained in its well over three hours of programming.

Though this could fit on one or two discs, but the idea is to split the program into three distinct parts that were available separately:

More Power

More Consistency

More Ups & Downs

I did not know most of the participants by name, but they all came across very well and this is produced very professionally.  The magazine itself is a big title and has come up with a DVD set worthy of their legacy and reputation.  For what it sets out to do, it is good. Next time, the magazine should go much further and push the limits of the DVD format.

The 1.33 X 1 images all originate on professional NTSC video, so there are the usual detail limits and other of the formats usual problems.  The Dolby Digital 2.0 is simple stereo at best, so the combination is typical of the self-help titles we are always seeing.  Extras are the same on all three DVDs, including tips, making of, warm up session, a featurette about the Top 100 players featured and ways to access the magazine itself on line, et al.
