From Kilkenny, Ireland, vocalist Liam Lawson delivers a
concert taped in 2005 of some of his most liked music in an already long and
established career in the Tradition Irish Folk Music genre. Liam Lawson In Concert runs about an
hour and offers ten songs in which he is accompanied by a fine band and backing
vocalists. He introduces each in
English and the result of the performances overall make this one of the best
DVDs in its genre to date. That says
something since this is a larger market than you might think.
The 1.33 X 1 image is not bad, shot on tape, likely the
analog PAL format. The Dolby Digital
2.0 Stereo has some surrounds, but it does not offer a better playback in Pro
Logic, though you can experiment depending on what kind of receiver features
you have for those with home theaters.
Extras include a making-of segment about 13 minutes long on his new
(ninth) album Another World, brief interview with Lawson about 6
minutes long and three bonus music performances.
