Kamichu! – Little Deity (V. 1)

Picture: B-     Sound: B-     Extras: C-     Episodes: C

Not much to say on Kamichu!  It is just another show about schoolgirls, except this time, one thinks she is a god and displays some abilities, but there are no ballets here.  There is also limited exploitation and limited humor, so if you want to see a laid back version of the same old same old, this is for ages 13 and up.  You get four somewhat silly shows.

The anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image is clean and clear, even if the animation is purposely softer and simpler than most modern Animé titles, while the Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo (English and Japanese) has just enough Pro Logic surround information to be more enjoyable in that mode.  Extras include trailers for this and three other Geneon Animé titles, plus a production art gallery.  The DVD menu also says “Actor Comments” with the same link as the art, but none are there.  Maybe next volume.
