The Trainer’s Edge – Fiesta Fitness Dance/Killer Kicks

Picture: C     Sound: C+     Extras: C     Main Programs: C+

The Trainer’s Edge is yet another exercise series on DVD.  Only those who use them can know how effective they are, but we need to judge how effective they play.  Fiesta Fitness Dance stars Giselle Roque de Escobar offers various Latino (and sometimes African) dance forms and how to use them to getting fit, while Killer Kicks stars Violet Zaki using martial arts as a way to tone up and get stronger in the process.  I liked both stars, but they deserve better productions and will hopefully get them in the future, but these are both a good start and run 45 minutes each.  Segmented into chapters that make sense, they are decent programs worth your time, depending on your needs and preferences.

The 1.33 X 1 image was shot in analog NTSC video and has a washed out look, while the shooting can best be described as tunnel vision with variation, which is fine for such a program if not the most creative.  The Dolby Digital 2.0 sound is simple stereo and just fine for such a program.  Extras exercise segments are included on both discs.  Fiesta Fitness Dance offers a bonus mini-workout with the star of Killer Kicks, while Killer Kicks offers a bonus mini-workout with the star of Fiesta Fitness Dance.  That must be why we got both at the same time.
