Global Jazz Trio at Baker’s Keyboard Lounge – Live In Detroit (CD)

Sound: B-     Music: B-

I had never heard of the Global Jazz Trio and they are not bad, but their choices of music for their Baker’s Keyboard Lounge – Live In Detroit (2005) but a track by Norah Jones and the perennial Amazing Grace cut into the rhythm of what was shaping up to be an interesting show.  Tracks by the band members, Sonny Rollins and John Coltrane fare better, but the concert overall never reaches its potential, which you can hear and feel on the CD.

The PCM 16bit/44.1kHz 2.0 Stereo is not as well recorded, as it should be for a recent live performance, with some roughness, harshness and other sonic limits throughout.  Fans will tolerate this, but audiophiles will likely not.
