Puppets Who Kill – The Complete Second Season

Picture: C     Sound: C     Extras: C     Episodes: C

With a mere 13 episodes, Puppets Who Kill continues their “bad puppet” ways with angry, drunken, drugged puppets who co-exist in a world with corrupt humans.  We pick up on The Complete Second Season and are not impressed.  It is a production of the Canadian cable/satellite Comedy Network, but is just not that funny.  All it can be is a one-joke show with no point.

Sure, some people love killer puppets and this is our fifth such title covered to date, but the humor is more explicit here than with the Puppet Master franchise or Puphedz, which are also supernatural unlike this series.  With that said, they do not comprise any cycle and this is only for those with an exceptional interest in such things.  The only thing this set really kills is time, time you could spend on better releases.

The 1.33 X 1 image was shot on professional NTSC analog video and is softer and more definition and color challenged than a 2004 production should be.  The Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo is compressed and definitely has no surrounds.  Extras include text cast/crew bios, Canada A.M. interview with the puppets, episode/scene index and audio commentary on two of the shows.
