John Cipolla & Doc Livingston – Misbehavin’ (Jazz CD)

Sound: B-     Music: B

With classics like Moon Ray, It Don’t Mean A Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing), Body & Soul and Lady Be Good, clarinetist John Cipolla and fellow clarinetist and pianist David “Doc” Livingston offer the competent 12-track set Misbehavin’.  The 2005 self-release by Cipolla.  The live recording is like a laid-back jam session that has its moments and will meet the expectations of Jazz instrumental fans.

This critic has just heard so many such albums that this one is only so distinct, but it is worth a listen and has solid musicianship.

The PCM 2.0 16bit/44.1kHz Stereo is a little muffled throughout, for whatever reason.  The music is still enjoyable and the sonic complaint is not about the limits of CD sound, but just something odd about the recording circumstances.
