Kenny Carr – Turn The Page (CD)

Sound: B     Music: B-

Kenny Carr returns for another Jazz entry with Turn The Page, a new CD release of studio music that is nine years after his Friday At Five CD.  Once again, the music sounds good, but it is just too uneven for my tastes.  Now that I have a second release to compare, maybe this is just too laid back, though I do think this set is a little better.  You can see more about the previous set at:

Of the 12 tracks, nothing stood out, but this was not just fluff either.  Another way of putting it about this one is it feels like Steely Dan-lite, though is nothing close to the weight of their Jazz side.  The PCM 2.0 16Bit/44.1kHz Stereo sound at least is good and clear, benefiting from being a more recent recording.  If you want to hear some of the tracks for yourself, find out more about Carr, the album and how to order, go to:

It’s a good site that will fill you in on the rest.
