A far cry from looking at their albums Nevermind and In Utero, both reviewed elsewhere on this site in DVD documentaries, Nirvana – Live!  Tonight!  Sold Out! (1994) is now on DVD in a visually upgraded version of the compilation of various concert and interview pieces gathered after Kurt Cobain’s still-odd death.  The songs offered in various formats include:

A paper slip inside the DVD case explains where each clip was taped and though the 1.33 X 1 image (both monochrome and color) has been fixed up as much as possible, this will never be very smooth and some of the footage looks like it was shot on analog tape by non-professionals, it at least exists.  Fans will love it, but many might find rewatchability an issue.  Others might just want to have it around to look at on occasion.  The Dolby Digital 5.1 remix is not bad, but the simple stereo in most cases can only be boosted so much and go so far.  Still, the upgrade is a plus and bonus tracks worth adding.
