After
being practically burned out with Blues DVDs, Carlos Santana Presents Blues At Montreux 2004 is a nice break and
change of pace from the “we are her seriously playing” shows that seem forced
and often strained. Instead, Santana presents
three legends at different times and the results are strong. The tracks for each are as follows:

I thought
they were impressive and I am not even a big Blues fan, so this should impress
fans. Each are anamorphically enhanced
at 1.78 X 1 in what seems like digital High Definition of some kind, likely
1080i. However, the sound can be rough
in its PCM 2.0 16bit/48kHz, Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 mixes. Still, it is an important set of concerts
doing Blues like we rarely see anymore and that is reason enough to see the
set.
