Legend Of The Dragon – Volume One (Animated)

Picture: C+     Sound: C+     Extras: D     Episodes: C

Genius is determined to have children’s programming and the tale of twins (sister and brother) who could both get powers to go with their martial arts skills is the predictable and all too familiar basis for the animated series Legend Of The Dragon – Volume One.  This DVD has four episodes:

Trail By Fire (2 parts)

Eye On The Tiger

Hero Worship

At less than a half-hour each, these are very basic and even the dubbing is flat.  This is not exactly Animé either, so age 8+ children are the only audience I can think of for this show, which is somewhat safe versus more violent variants.  It still has its share of action, if you can call it that.

The 1.33 X 1 image is smooth and has color consistency, but it is of a muted color scheme that pretends to be natural and is not.  The Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo is simple and not too exciting, so playback is competent at best for DVD.  The only extra is a preview so lame and generic that I do not know why they bothered.
