Extreme Series – Behind The Monsters (Trucks) + Family Moto Cross (Special Interest Sports DVDs)

Many cable networks + many home with home video playback make all kinds of programming productions possible.  This includes hyper programs on recreational sports and even as HD approaches, many are still being made in analog video or low def digital as it is assumed fans could care less yet.  Extreme Series – Behind The Monsters offers oversized trucks that run over anything they can, while Family Moto Cross is about the fun families can have with ATVs and not get killed.

Tamara Apted hosts both, getting an assist from the also pretty Adrienne Haitz on the truck disc.  At this point after over 30 years of VHS and Beta, followed by their successors, I expected a more informative show and got the same old same old formula of pretty hosts with lots of gas burning vehicles that rip through things.  They last about an hour each average and are for diehard fans only.

The 1.33 X 1 could have been softer and does have aliasing issues in both releases, but color is consistent enough.  The Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo on the other hand can be either loud and shrill, or have bad location recording.  Stills and a preview for the opposing DVD are extras on both, while bloopers and driver profile are included on the truck disc to no avail.
