Brutal (2007)

Picture: C     Sound: C     Extras: D     Film: D

In another attempt to up the antie on torture for fun, writer/director Ethan Wiley’s Brutal (2007) is a sadistic would-be thriller and quasi-snuff film where playful music by Joseph Bauer is run every time the killer is using a power tool on a captured victim.  The only thing we do not see is the guy having hardcore intercourse with dead, dismantled bodies, but the mentality of this mess is so bad, that would not have surprised me.  Skip this one!

The anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image is really bad with poor everything about it, including detail and Video Black.  This was shot on video.  The Dolby Digital 2.0 mix is mono often and poorly recorded throughout.  There are no extras.
