Dead Clowns (2003/Lionsgate)

Picture: C     Sound: C     Extras: D     Film: D

Can’t anyone make a good film about clowns and old pullets that involve killing, murder and psychosis?  Steve Sessions’ tries to mix clowns and zombies in Dead Clowns (2003) and it is a disaster.  No suspense, dumb gore and pointlessness all the way, a clown car disappeared fifty years ago when it fell into the water.  Now there are killer zombie clowns on the loose?  Yawn.

The anamorphically enhanced image is at an unusual 2 X 1 ratio, but is video and not film.  It looks old, has aliasing errors throughout and is not well shot to boot.  The Dolby Digital 5.1 mix just smudges around the poor location audio, which is barely stereo and there are no extras.
