Acts Of Death (2006)

Picture: C     Sound: C     Extras: C-     Film: C-

Freshmen girls go for initiations by a stupid secret society and one is accidentally killed in Acts Of Death, another terrible straight-to-DVD would-be horror film that has a likable cast, an idea we have seen often before and if done well, could have been watchable.  When director/co-writer is more interested in making the gore effects a lead star, the only act of death is against the narrative and killing off the interest of an audience.  Then it becomes a snuff film, showing little heart or soul was ever intended to begin with.  Skip it.

The anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image is soft, boring and typical of HD productions today with the usual detail and depth limits.  The Dolby Digital 2.0 mix is barely stereo and often features substandard location audio with forgettable music.  The only extra is a set of trailers.
