Masterpiece Theater’s The Family Collection (WGBH)

Picture: C+     Sound: C+     Extras: C-     Telefilms: B

Repackaging some telefilm of note, WGBH re-offers four previously released titles in a new set dubbed Masterpiece Theater’s The Family Collection with the added bonus being that they are in slender cases.  We have covered three of the four previously, as the following links will bear out:

Goodbye, Mr. Chips

The Railway Children

That leaves Carrie’s War, my least favorite of the set, telling the somewhat fantasy tale of a sister, brother and eventually, a Christmas goose set at the start of WWII.  Light and sometimes silly, it is family fare, but easily the weakest title on this set.  It is in 1.78 X 1 letterboxed image and Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo sound with no surrounds.  There are no extras.
