Gemini Soul is another Jazz trio delivering a mix of classics, new standards and their own compositions in their new CD “Live” – The Liquid Soul Tour CD (207) featuring 12 tracks including:

The originals are not bad, Jazz classics also good, but I did take issue with two covers.  Fever is a good cover, but not as good as it could be, which hurts the album.  However, the slowness and dragged out nature of Sade’s underrated Hang On To Your Love is the biggest disappointment here.  Otherwise, Jazz fans should be happy.

 

The PCM 16/44.1 2.0 Stereo sound is not bad, with clear sonics, good producing and engineering.  As compared to the many Jazz DVDs we have covered lately, it holds its own.
