Flywheel (2003/Telefilm)

Picture: C     Sound: C+     Extras: C-     Telefilm: C-

How do you make a family feature or melodrama worse?  Mix the clichés of both with oversimplifications of life and appeals to religious faith that are too flat to work and you get a somewhat sincere mess like Flywheel (2003) which became a “faith-based” hit and launched The Kendrick Brothers into making a bunch of such films.

This one is about a father who has to make a choice to improve his life and that of his family.  You can figure out the rest.

The 1.33 X 1 image is a rough low def digital backup that can be very hard to watch, while the Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo has barely any surrounds, but is harsh and a but shrill too often.  Extras include Kendrick Brothers audio commentary, TV spots, deleted, scenes, outtakes, bloopers, making of featurette, intro and preview for their next project.
