Two & A Half Men – The Complete Second Season (Warner DVD)

Picture: C+     Sound: C+     Extras: C-     Episodes: D

As Two & A Half Men continued to be a hit, would it get better or be a formula show and get worse and more grating.  The answer for the episode now out on DVD in The Complete Second Season set: grating and smug.

To know how slight I felt the first season was, here is the link to that review:

24 more shows are here for fair comparison as that matches last season’s number.  Unfortunately, the show becomes too self-impressed with itself this time around and it is amazing how embarrassing it becomes, unless you find it funny.  That means you have been conned into thinking they are funny.  Usually, I tell readers to start with the first season, but you might want to start here, because if you don’t like this set, you probably will want to avoid the series.

The anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image is actually poorer than the first sets, with more noise and detail issues than the last set.  The sound is the same and only extras this time include a gag reel and making of featurette.  See it at your own risk.
