Kane Blueriver, along with Canal his ship/companion/hologram travels the universe is a 'Trouble Contractor', taking odd jobs and near impossible odds in their ship the Swordbreaker.  They team up (unwilling) with Millie who's dream is to become the best detective in the universe, but after discovering that the Swordbreaker is a 'Lost Ship', a super advance ship left by a superior race becomes part of the crew.  Seeking a chance to make a quick buck or just doing some good they always mean well, but trouble just seems to follow them where ever they go.  But mysteries surround Kane and Millie's background and their fantastic ship, as evil comes closer so does Kane's past and destiny...

This is a relatively old Animé series, it has been called 'Slayers' in space, similar to the anime series 'Slayers', both in character design, story, and voice acting, so if you like the occasional things blowing up, comic relations between characters and the saving the world before it blows up it's self then I would recommend the series for you.  The antics between the main characters were funny and interesting, especially Canal the ship gets caught up between Kane, Millie and getting the ship fixed whenever Millie cooks and blows up the kitchen.

A sci-fi space anime with a relatively simplistic plot, while enjoyable the series is fairly predictable, Kane, Millie and Canal each adventure the grate on each other's short comings, but when in trouble they (usually) pull together and come through, Millie usually getting the gang in trouble, Kane busting out his psy-blade (lightsaber) and Canal flying in with her cannons blazing.

The 1.33 X 1 image is a little soft, but not as bad as expected, though the Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono in either language is flatter than expected, even for its age.  Extras include
