Sesame Street – Dinosaurs! (Genius DVD)

After several Elmo DVDs, Play With Me Sesame DVDs and the especially great Sesame Street Old School series, an obvious one-shot Sesame Street release (all reviewed elsewhere on this site) simply called Dinosaurs! should be a children’s favorite and features three shows: Herb Dino, Elmo Pterodactyl and The Dino Factory.  It is short at about 40 minutes, which is often the case for too may of these children’s titles, but I guess it is convenient in any case.

 

There is nothing much else to say about the title except kids loves dinosaurs and there is more than enough in the short time you see them, but kids do play these discs again and again.  It is child-safe and that is always half the battle won.

 

The 1.33 X 1 image looks good as produced on professional analog NTSC video and color is the most consistent thing about it.  The Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo offers simple stereo at best, but is nicely recorded and has the music we have come to expect from the series.  The only extra is five minutes of Ernie talking about dinosaurs.
