Jethro Tull Jack In The Green: Live In Germany (1970 - 93/Eagle DVD)
Picture: C+ Sound: B- Extras: D Concert: B
In a nice
change of pace from the usual and many Jethro Tull releases, Jethro Tull Jack In The Green: Live In
Germany is a new DVD that shows Ian Andersons growth, highs, lows and
endurance as an icon of Rock music and beyond.
The cross-section of performance are remarkably consistent and includes:
Rockpop In Concert 1982
Hard Times
Pussy Willow
Heavy Horses
Jack In The Box
Keyboard Solo
Sweet Dream
Aqualung
Locomotive Breath
Cheerio
Rocksummer 1986
Hunting Girl
Out In The Green 1986
Thick As A Brick
Black Sunday
Improvisation II
Too Old For Rock N Roll/Too
Young To Die
Live
1993
My Sunday Feeling
So Much Trouble
Beat Club 1970 73
With You There To Help Me
Nothing Is Easy
Tull gets
attacked by a new generation trying to lump them with all of Progressive Rock
or trivialize/mock the 1960s and 1970s in mindless fashion. Even after the Lord Of The Rings films and the rest of the Fantasy cycle of late,
youd think all would get more respect.
Oh well.
The 1.33
X 1 image is only slightly various and all full color throughout, all captured
on analog video that ranges from PAL to NTSC, but is transferred about as well
as it is going to be here. The DTS 5.1
mix is the best of the three choices (version Dolby Digital 5.1 and 2.0) but
all show the limits of the TV audio of the time. There are no extras, but Eagle has a newer
concert on DVD you can read more about at this link:
