I had
never heard of Story Of The Year and if I ever heard any of their music without
knowing it was them, nothing was memorable.
Story Of The Year Our Time Is
Now (2007) is another promo piece not so cleverly disguised to get us to
know a band/music act we might like and maybe become money-spending fans. Though it is not as simply cynical as that, I
learned little about this act and when it was all over, was glad.
Maybe it
is the generally callus attitude of the whole package, feeling like a gritty
package deal that pretends it is not, but it is more show than go and the show
part leaves a good bit to be desired. I
dont know if this band will ever be highly popular or even last as a unit, but
if they do not, that would be no surprise.
The 1.33
X 1 image is a mix of various video footage that is more often rough than not,
with sometimes awkward editing and undistinguished form a ton of other such
projects. The Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo
has no surrounds, which does not help the music, while other spots of audio are
rough or hot in the worst way. Extras
include two videos, separate making of piece on them, deleted scenes of little note,
trailer and making of piece.
