Rebus – Set 3 (Acorn Media)

Picture: C+     Sound: B-     Extras: C-     Film: C

Though in its third season, this is the second wave of Rebus on TV.  We looked at the first versions at this link:

Then we looked at the second set of Rebus here:

I agree with my fellow critic here at the site that this Ken Stott series is a bit more problematic and dull than expected, especially compared to the first series.  Continuing on these new shows are about on par with the ones from the second set and they are:

1. Knots and Crosses

2. The Naming of the Dead

3. The First Stone

4. Resurrection Men

Perhaps the better of the two shows are The Naming of the Dead and Resurrection Men, but only fans of this show will probably want this box set.  Technical qualities are similar as well to the previous sets, 1.78 X 1 transfer and Dolby Stereo sound mix, both are average and seem flat, but then again with more HD programming shows like this just can’t keep up, even on DVD.
