Robbie Coltrane – Incredible Britain (aka B-Road Britain/Acorn DVD)

Picture: C+     Sound: C+     Extras: C-     Episodes: C+

The actor Robbie Coltrane has become one of the great actor survivors of his generation and with his personality, it is no surprise he would do a TV show about something, like traveling.  Robbie Coltrane – Incredible Britain, a 3-episode Mini-Series where he tours some of the bets roads and visits some of the most interesting, key locations anyone could find.

Of course, his wit and personality do not hurt and there is definitely some nostalgia involved, but we also get to meet some great people and they all seem to be having fun.  That is another one of the reasons to watch this, as it is literally a good trip and Coltrane shows that he is more for real on screen acting as we expected from seeing the man himself in action.

The anamorphically enhanced 1.78 X 1 image is a little softer than I would have liked, as it seems to be an HD shoot and we get motion blur here we might not get on a future, potential Blu-ray.  The Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo is not bad, but is location sound with some scoring and is only going to go so far.  Extras include text on Coltrane and a fun facts map.
